Trends in Online Learning
- It's More Than New Tools -
Education is essential to economic development and keeping the U.S. workforce competitive in a knowledge-based economy. Online learning has boomed in recent years and now plays a significant role in higher education and the professional development of our workforce. According to the 2011 Survey of Online Learning, more than six million students -- nearly one third of all students at degree-granting post-secondary institutions -- are taking at least one online course. And the proportion of students taking online courses continues to grow.
WSTA is pleased to present Olympic College faculty in an interactive and informative presentation on the today’s virtual classroom. You will see and experience technology teaching tools that enable greater access to education, collaboration with peers, and real-time interaction with professors. Hear about the future of eLearning.
For both students and educational institutions, online learning is a critical part of their long-term success strategy. Online education not only plays a critical role in learning and skills development for tomorrow’s workers and leaders, but also contributes to the economic successes of our communities, state and nation.
